Can you tell us how you got started with this “boyish” job?
I got into IT shortly after school, which is almost 20 job seekers database years ago. My job was closely linked to IT from the beginning. I found it interesting to solve complex changes in debt collection processes and the associated changes in IT systems based on data analysis. So I naturally moved into the role of a business analyst on the IT side. After about two years, I got the opportunity to manage my first project. So I became a project manager, but I occasionally and happily returned to analytical roles.
Could you choose some projects that you consider the most interesting?
There have been many projects over the years. I will mention three from which I gained some fundamental knowledge.
At Raiffeisenbank, as a Business Information Architect in american companies in japan the Finance Division, I was working on a proposal for a new data warehouse , specifically the CDL (common data layer), which is the only place of truth that is the starting point for all reporting for the entire bank. To do this, it is necessary to be well-versed in a large spectrum of data (how it is created and what it means) and then to design a general structure that everyone will draw from. In this role, I realized how very different the view of the same data is between risk management, financial controlling, reporting to the CNB and ultimately business . It was a valuable experience for me that helped me see information through a new lens.
Next, I would like to mention the replacement of the main system for the Treasury department of the bank (the department that deals with derivatives, options, stocks from various perspectives). I spent more than two years on this project as a PM. At that time, the Treasury department lived its own life within the bank, we were like a state within a state. We had our own traders, suppliers and IT. In the bank, processes and roles are usually strictly set and each change has a relatively long life cycle. We were lucky enough to have everything in our hands to a large extent. Most of my colleagues had enthusiasm for their work in addition to their expertise, which is why it was a pleasure to work on projects there. The knowledge I took away from this project was a lot about perceiving the contrast between “local” and “central”.
And the third one?
Lastly, I will describe one more project where I worked as a PM. It was a company that provided financing to customers in the transport segment. From the banks’ point of view, these are very risky clients and the company took advantage of this space in the market. We were preparing the delivery of such a “light banking system”. However, management basically did not allow us to implement this method. Despite the pressure for “agile delivery”, they demanded clear deadlines, prices and generally stayed in the same rut. The whole agility then consisted of renaming roles and processes, which did not make sense to me. As part of our efforts to set a new path, we encountered great resistance. Until one day I was unexpectedly dismissed with immediate effect. It was a great disappointment for me.
I need to do work in a way that is consistent with my values.
That’s a rough experience. Do you regret it?
Not at all. Of course, it was difficult at the time, I don’t deny thailand data that. I thought a lot about where I went wrong, what I could or should have done differently. In a larger organization, there are sometimes conflicting interests of different people on different goals. But if some people have organizational power, they can easily get rid of those who threaten them. However, I know that I would have gone into it anyway. I believed that I was doing the right thing, and I will always go into such a fight again. I need to do work in a way that is in line with my values. But otherwise, it was a really great project with an excellent team and a very interesting goal. We had a lot of fun, and that’s the basis for me.
Skipping to Enehan, what caught your eye about us?
Since I don’t know Salesforce, the potential collaboration didn’t make much sense to me. In the end, my desire to
