I really liked

Jon Loomer’s article about how the investor database FB algorithm works. There’s nothing groundbreaking in it, but he says one thing that inspired me: the FB algorithm is great at optimizing for purchases, but not so good at optimizing for the Top funnel.

What it brought me back to: doing brand awareness campaigns based on lead magnets. That’s what FB is good at, and it finds us an audience that’s interested in a given topic, and then we just have to move them further down the funnel to purchase.

How to do B2B well

– again, don’t expect anything top 10 start-up accelerators in japan groundbreaking here. All the tips mentioned in the article are really addressed in e-commerce, but I think we could do more in B2B.

They mainly recommend using video (of course, right, but good B2B video is much harder than e-commerce) and using customer feedback (why they buy, why they love the product, why they don’t buy, and it’s often much harder to get this information from the sales team).

How big is my budget? If small, you might want to try remarketing first
How big is your remarketing audience? If you’re just starting out, it’s not worth counting on a large remarketing budget.
Do you have returning customers?

Is targeting new b2C phone list customers effective? Jon advises here – if you’re not seeing results, then you should turn to remarketing. But that seems pretty shortsighted to me.
